Halloween isn't really my favorite holiday so I usually create fall theme or harvest cards. But for this weeks Make and Take, I felt somehow obligated to use a pumpkin. This particular pumpkin is an older Tim Holtz layering Bigz die. The branches are also from an older Tim Holtz punch. What's new is the Sizzix 3D Textured Impression Embossing Folder called Elegant. I wish you could see the amazing texture this folder adds to cardstock especially metallic cardstock! It is absolutely beautiful and looks very expensive! I really didn't want to cover it all up with the pumpkin, so I decided I will be reaching for this design again throughout the season. It really works for any season and the results are always surprising! I always ask myself "Is this too much?" or "Is this enough?", because I don't ever want to create a boring card. What could be more tragic? LOL. I love the way the rich layers of texture take this card to a more interesting and unique place. I encourage you to try reaching for more texture and adding in your favorite patterned paper when die cutting. The pattern design along with some inking around each of the layers, create dimension and give your pieces a finished look. I also felt this card was complete without a sentiment. The colors and overall design says it all. Thoughts?
Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween!
