Lately the inspiration behind my cards has been the idea of simplicity but they always end up a little "extra". A great way to make simple cards "extra" is to start with beautiful card stock and finish with some bling. So this week I used a gorgeous and vibrant pearl red card stock as my background. You may be lucky enough to have this throwback embossing powder still in your stash: Antiquities Christmas Tree by Ranger. It has flecks of red and green together. I wish you all could see this in person. I applied embossing glue to a sponge dauber and dabbed the top edge of the red card stock to get the Christmas bough look and then heat set the powder onto the glue. I love the organic feel, and the white fiber specialty yarn added another "extra" Christmas flair to the card. The Merry Christmas thinlits die cut is from Tim Holtz new set 664196. I used the larger of the two dies that come in the set.
